Mississippi State offers Nance

Nash Nance is one of the top quarterback prospects from the Peach State. Nance, 6-3 and 200 pounds, was already sitting on one early scholarship offer from Harvard. On Saturday, he got a big one from Mississippi State.
"They offered me on Saturday afternoon," Nance said. "I was at the barbershop and I got an email on my phone from my coach. Mississippi State faxed the offer to the office. I was very excited. Actually, I got chills. My dad thought I wasn't excited about it. 'I was like dad, I'm getting my haircut.' Yeah, I was very excited and still am."

One of the things that Nash likes about the Bulldogs is new head coach Dan Mullen and the quarterbacks he has coached.
"I met coach Mullen at Florida's camp last summer. He says he likes my footwork and quick release. The thing is this, he has coached some great quarterbacks like Tim Tebow and Alex Smith and he has won two national championships. He will turn that program around and I am real excited to have him recruiting me. We already have a great relationship."
Nance is scheduled to visit Starkville this weekend. The plan is to leave on Saturday morning.
Vanderbilt, Duke, and Central Florida are schools hot in pursuit of this Calhoun, Ga. high school star. He just got finished with basketball season and now he's on to golf, where he's a five handicap.
