commented the 5-foot-11, 175 pound athlete Nathaniel Banks. Banks is a
speedster and has been clocked consistently at a sub 4.4 forty. He bench
presses 230-lbs. and claims a 37" vertical jump.
As a junior Banks caught 26 passes for 600 yards and seven touchdowns from the
receiver position and also played some cornerback. He returned four punts
90 yards, and one kickoff for a score, but was kicked away from most of the
season.
As a sophomore he started at cornerback and had five interceptions. He is
being recruited on both sides of the ball, but is receiving the most
interest on defense.
"I ‘m just looking for a good college with a good athletic program and a
good academic program," Banks stated. "I want a place where I can get a
good education and a good degree."
Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Memphis, Arkansas, and Louisiana - Lafayette
currently lead for Nathaniel's services. Ole Miss is his favorite and the
Rebels have already extended a scholarship offer.
Coaches from Ole Miss, Southern Miss, and Louisiana-Lafayette contacted the
Banks during the early evaluation period, and he has received the most
attention from Ole Miss. Oxford was the only place he camped this summer.
Banks projects as a full qualifier with a 2.5 GPA. He scored a 16 on his
first ACT attempt and plans to take it again in the fall.
