Mississippi RB talks about calls

Three-star Horn Lake (Miss.) running back Brandon Jackson has seen his recruitment pick up some steam as the September contact period got under way.
“I’ve been getting a lot more calls than I did earlier this spring,” he said. “I heard from Michigan State, West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Marshall, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State. A bunch of others tried to call, but didn’t get me when I was home.”

Jackson (6-0, 220, 4.43) is rated the No. 16 running back in the nation coming off a junior season where he rushed for 1,770 yards and 28 touchdowns. He has offers from Michigan State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and West Virginia.
He’s still unsure about a favorite, but has five schools on the top of his list.
“My leaders are Michigan State, West Virginia, Tennessee, Michigan and Arkansas,” he said. “I’m thinking about taking some visits to those schools. But we haven’t set up any dates yet. I talked a little bit with Michigan State about setting one, but haven’t figured out a good time to go.”
The Spartans are considered a strong possibility to land his commitment. He was born and raised in Michigan and still has family in the area.
“I like them,” he said. “They’ve always been up there pretty high. But I’m open to all five of those schools I mentioned.”
Jackson’s senior season has gotten off to a somewhat slow start with only 89 yards on 13 carries through two games. He does, however, have a 30-yard touchdown catch to his credit.
Academically, he maintains a 3.0 GPA and will take his test again next month.
