Cliff Davis was originally
scheduled to visit Mississippi State this weekend, but that date has been pushed
back to the end of the month.
"We had to reschedule that one for Jan. 31," he said,
"so I took a trip to Arkansas State this weekend.
"I had a real good time on this visit. It really
surprised me. The people were just great, and it seemed like a fun place to
play. I think the town and the college in general is a real hidden secret."
Davis (6-5, 205, 4.7) -- a two-sport star who will also
likely be selected as a pitcher in the next Major League Baseball draft -- had
previously listed Ole Miss as his favorite, but that has changed in recent
weeks.
"I'm not real interested anymore," he said of the
Rebels. "I don't know what's up there, but they pretty much quit recruiting me."
Davis will also visit Louisville on Jan. 17 and Southern
Miss on Jan. 24.
A member of the Rivals.com
Mississippi Top 30 team and one
of the Top 50 pro-style quarterbacks in the nation, Davis passed for 2,016 yards
and 31 touchdowns this season in leading his team to a 13-2 record and the state
championship game.
