Cliff Davis has scheduled his first official visit and is in
the process of selecting teams for the other four spots.
"My offers are still from Mississippi State and
LSU," he said, "and I've got my first visit set for Mississippi State on
Jan. 10, and I'm getting one set up for Tennessee in late December. We don't
have the exact date yet.
"After that, I'm looking at Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU
and South Carolina for the other spots. A lot of that will depend on who
offers. For now, I'm just concentrating on our season and trying to win a
championship. Everything else will be fine. I'll have plenty of good
opportunities."
He noted that the Volunteers have come on strongest
in recent weeks. "They're shown a lot more interest than ever before," he
said. "I'm real excited about my visit there because they really pushed hard
for me to come. I hoping for an offer."
Davis (6-5, 205, 4.7) is a member of the Rivals.com
Mississippi Top 30 team and one of the Top 50 pro-style
quarterbacks in the nation. He's also a top baseball prospect, and will
likely play both sports in college if he doesn't take the minor league route
after the June amateur draft.
As a senior he's led Eupora to a 9-1 record and the
No. 2 ranking in the Mississippi "Small 10" division. He's passed for more
than 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns with only four interceptions.
