Mississippi QB has spring visitors

Baldwyn (Miss.) quarterback Blake Barnes figures to be the state’s top quarterbacks for the Class of 2004 and is commanding the type of early attention one would expect for that designation.
“We’ve had several coaches come by this spring,” he said. “Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Memphis have all been to school lately.

"I’ve also talked to coach Roper from Ole Miss, coach Jackson from Michigan and a coach from Kentucky on the phone recently. I hadn’t heard much from Kentucky yet, so they’re kind of new to me.”
Barnes (6-3, 218. 4.7) has one scholarship offer thus far, from Mississippi State.
“They’re in my top four teams right now,” he said of the Bulldogs. “I like Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Auburn the most.”
Barnes, who threw for 2,438 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior, said he plans attend team passing camps at Ole Miss, Alabama and Mississippi State this summer. He also wants to squeeze in trips to Arkansas, Auburn and Purdue for individual camps.
