Mississippi Outlaw down to two

Derrick Outlaw was a preseason top-15 prospect in Mississippi. The Starkville (Miss.) two-way starter said that his senior season has made him a well-rounded player, which has gotten the attention of some in-state powers.
“I’ve been talking to Ole Miss and Southern Miss lately,” Outlaw said. “Southern Miss has offered me, and I like them a lot.”

Outlaw said that he will need official visits to determine more about the schools.
“I will visit both of those schools,” he said. “I’ll probably get to both of them sometime this month, and I’ll probably decide later on between them.”
With his season over, the defensive tackle and tight end could look back on the individual progress he felt he achieved over the team’s eight games.
“We finished 4-4, but I thought it was a pretty good season,” Outlaw said. “I was stronger on defense this year, I had around 65 tackles. We moved back to a 4-4 formation, and I think that helped me get some more tackles and helped me learn a new defense. I’m a quiet player, but I’m dangerous and I’ll do whatever a coach wants me to do.”
