Mississippi LB adds Vol offer

Three-star Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove running back/linebacker Garry Pack has a new major scholarship offer to mull over.
“I got offered by Tennessee a couple of weeks ago when they called me,” he said. “I was pretty happy about that. I love everything about their program – the coaches, the tradition, the fans.”

Pack (6-1, 213, 4.5) is one of the top 10 players in the Magnolia State and rated the No. 25 inside linebacker nationally. He also has offers from Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Auburn. He received calls from Ole Miss – “They’re recruiting me the hardest” – Southern Miss, LSU, Tennessee, Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Marshall and Middle Tennessee this month.
Asked about his leaders, Pack said his latest top five includes Florida State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU and Southern Miss.
“I’ve been to a couple of games – Alabama against Oklahoma and Southern Miss against Nebraska,” Pack said. “I’ll probably try to go to Ole Miss, LSU and maybe Mississippi State for a game. I don’t have my officials set up yet, but it would be those five I told you if I had to do them today.”
Through five games as a senior, Pack has helped lead Oak Grove to an undefeated record and the No. 3 ranking in Mississippi’s Class 5A. He’s coming off an 18-carry, 118-yard, three-touchdown game on Friday.
“I have more than 600 yards and 11 touchdowns on offense so far,” he said. “On defense, I have about 60 tackles and two caused fumbles.”
Pack is also solid in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA and a 17 on the ACT.
