Mississippi back stays in SEC

Talk about breaking news. Columbia, Miss., running back Jamal Pittman said just seconds ago that he has made a commitment - and the coaches are still sitting in his living room.
"I just verbally committed to Ole Miss," Pittman, one of the top players in the state of Mississippi, said. "The caoches are still here, in fact. You want to talk to them?"

No, you're the man of the hour Mr. Pittman. So why did he pick the Rebels over offers from Oklahoma, Mississippi State and Arkansas?
"It's home," he said. "Ole Miss is home, and they need a big back to carry the load for them. I want to be that guy."
Pittman is still slated to visit Ole Miss on Jan. 11.
"They are pretty much open at the running back position," he said. "I took an unofficial visit and I liked the campus. I liked the scene, and I liked the people. I had the feeling that is where I need to be."
