Mississippi athlete likes USM

A Conference USA program has been showing Benoit (Miss.) Ray Brooks running back/cornerback Kozialski Nelson a fair amount of attention and has emerged as an early favorite.
"I'm getting letters from Southern Miss," Nelson said. "I plan to go to their Junior Day on April 8."

The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder says that the Golden Eagles are his current favorite.
"I am looking forward to all aspects of my visit," he said. "I would love to get into school there."
Nelson, who rushed for 822 yards and nine touchdowns and had 30 tackles on defense, hopes to achieve a qualifying score on his ACT next time he takes it. He has yet to receive a scholarship offer and added that the test will likely give a boost to his recruitment.
"The ACT score is going to be a really big factor for me," Nelson said. "Location is sort of a factor, too. It had to do with location and if the school can help me out the best way they can when I go to school.
"The closer it gets to my choice day, I will know more."
Nelson, who also likes Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee, added that he models his game after Seattle Seahawks Shaun Alexander.
"I just like the way he moves with the ball in his hands," Nelson said. "And I also like the way he never quits, especially around the goal line."
Nelson plans on attending the Baton Rouge NIKE Camp April 30 on the campus of LSU.
