Miss. State impresses 3-star 2015 Ala. TE

There's no doubt that Class of 2015 three-star Montgomery (Ala.) St. James tight end Jalen Harris future is as a football player, but for now he's starring on his school's basketball team, which has slowed his recruiting process a little.
"I'm playing basketball so a lot of that recruiting has died down," the 6-foot-4, 232-pounder said recently. "I'm probably going to stick with football but I've always played basketball so I didn't want to let down my teammates."

A couple of schools that recently offered are still keeping in touch and letting Harris know he's a priority.
"Probably Kentucky and Mississippi State I've been keeping in touch with the most," Harris said.
This fall he was active on the visit circuit, making it to Auburn four times for games and also visiting Alabama twice.
"I grew up an Alabama fan but I'm trying to catch the attention and impress both schools," Harris said. "I camped at both last summer and I'll be back out there again."
As far as the Bulldogs, his most recent offer, Harris said he was pleasantly surprised when he visited campus last month.
"It was great," he said. "When I went down there I wasn't expecting Starkville to be how it was. At Mississippi State they have top-notch facilities and that really surprised me. They're not taking second to anyone in the SEC."
