Florissant (Mo.) McCluer North three-star offensive tackle Keith Williams took his first official visit of the recruiting process this past weekend to Minnesota. The 6-foot-7, 315-pounder said the visit went off with great success, but is just a stepping stone toward making a final decision.
"It went good," Williams said about the visit. "I toured the campus, of course. The housing is great. I actually went to a basketball game and two hockey games. I'm not really a hockey fan, but it was neat to see the school's support of a sport like that.
"I also talked to the coaches a lot, and I talked to the players about what they think about Minnesota. I was hosted by Steve Davis, and it was good to be with him again since we used to be teammates."
Williams said he really enjoyed also talking with Minnesota coach Glen Mason. But for him it's just his first official visit. He's scheduled next to go Indiana on December 9 and Nebraska on December 16. Michigan State is also going to get a visit in January.
