Minnesota latest to offer Kenney

Scholarship offers started to arrive shortly after Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike defensive end David Kenney finished his junior season. The 6-2, 250-pound Kenney now holds a total of four offers after Minnesota tendered an offer last week.
"I received the offer through the d-line coach," Kenney said. "I got a chance to talk on the phone with him. They like my speed and quickness."

Kenney's familiarity with Minnesota's program was limited before the offer, but is looking to make a visit to Minneapolis sometime in the coming months and see what the Gophers have to offer.
"I just want to see how the team is and how the coaching staff is," he said. "I got a great feel for the [defensive line coach]."
The offer from Minnesota joins previous offers from Iowa, Iowa State and Indiana. Kenney did not expect to have four offers from BCS programs before the start of the new year, and enjoys the thought of having several options to choose from.
"It really makes it more fun and a better experience," Kenney said.
For now, Kenney is working out and preparing for his senior season. Next up is a junior day visit to Iowa on Feb. 5.
