Oakdale, (Minn.) all-purpose back prospect Jay Thomas (6-foot-0, 175 pounds) from Tartan High School has two scholarship offers under his belt so far this summer.
"I have scholarship offers from both Northern Illinois and Minnesota," Jay Thomas said. "Several schools have also expressed recruiting interest this summer, and several schools said that they will be back in school on September 1st and they also said they want to see some senior tape."
Thomas talked about his latest offers.

"Northern Illinois offered me during the May evaluation period, and they were my first offer. I've never been to NIU but I have family who live in the Chicago area, and I'm going to try to make an unofficial visit to DeKalb later this summer. I know that NIU has been very successful over the last few years and that they were nationally ranked last year."
"I went to a one-day camp at the U (Minnesota) in June, and the coaches offered me after the camp. I really like the coaching staff at Minnesota. They seem very down to Earth and I get along very well with them. I'm also very familiar with the facilities and the campus, and it's an honor to get an early offer from the in-state Big 10 school."
Thomas, who has been receiving steady recruiting interest from Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan State and North Dakota, hasn't set any deadline as to when he'll make his final college choice.
"I've been really busy this summer with basketball as well as lifting and getting ready for my senior year, so I haven't given too much thought towards making my final college choice. I'll see what happens once the fall comes around, and I'm just going to take some time to decide."
