Miners pickup Texas OL

Even with new interest coming from some top programs like Kansas State, Baylor, and TCU, Lancaster, Texas offensive tackle Edgar McNac had to go with his gut feeling on which team wanted him the most.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound two-star prospect had been holding offers from not only Baylor and TCU, but also UTEP. The Miners were one team that definitely showed some very impressive attention to the top Texas lineman.

That made all the difference.
"I'm going to go ahead and commit to UTEP," McNac said. "They have been recruiting met he longest, Kansas State just hasn't decided on me I guess, and it just felt like a better fit for me there."
McNac said that the Big 12 school and the in-state program were going head-to-head for his services.
"It really came down to those two schools," McNac said. "I talked to my coach and he told me that UTEP was wanting me pretty bad and that I really should go somewhere that I am wanted."
McNac was being recruited by UTEP coach Lawrence Livingston and took an official visit to El Paso on Nov. 4.
