Miller takes in Tech

Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne wide receiver A.D. Miller committed to Illinois in early July, but he has made it known he plans to take his official visits.
Over the weekend he took his first official visit to Texas Tech to check out the Red Raider program.

"It was good," Miller said. "It was a great atmosphere, a great campus, great football staff, great players. It looked pretty good to me. I actually liked it a lot."
While in Lubbock he kept a close eye on the Red Raider offense. Kliff Kingsbury has put a prolific offense on the field since his arrival in Lubbock, and Miller took notice.
"I noticed the way they pass the ball," Miller said. "I liked it. I can fit into their offense real well. In talking to coach Kingsbury and coach Morris they have a plan for me if I do decide to go there. I have a chance to play early and that would be a great opportunity."
The standout wide receiver also enjoyed his time around the team. A few things about the Red Raider team really caught his attention.
"The attitude and personality," Miller said. "They all have good attitudes. It's like a family. They all have each others back."
Miller was hosted on his visit by his former Bishop Dunne teammate Payton Hendrix. The two had plenty of fun, but Hendrix also let him know about life as a Red Raider.
"He just told me to take my time. He told me it's a great place to be - a great campus, great atmosphere, great environment, and great people all around Lubbock. He told me he made the decision to go there because of those reasons and the opportunities he was given."
Out of all the sights and experiences of the weekend, there were two aspects of the Red Raider program which
"The campus, it was a real nice campus, and they have high academics," Miller said. "Those two stuck out to me the most."
Next up Miller plans to check out Arizona State. He originally planned to visit Tempe October 17, but he now plans to reschedule the visit for a later date.
"Because I missed this weekend and I didn't get a chance to do all my homework so I got a little behind on my school work so I'm not trying to do that two weeks in a row," Miller said.
He does not have anything scheduled for Arizona State yet, but it looks like he will visit when the Sun Devils host Notre Dame the weekend of November 7.
In addition to a trip to Arizona State, Miller is also considering official visits to Nebraska, Tennessee, Washington, and Kentucky. He does not know exactly when he plans to take his other visits, but he does have a good idea.
"After this Arizona State visit all the other visits will probably be after the season," Miller said. "I want to focus on my season too instead of all of these visits."
Miller may have a few visit plans, but he is still committed to Illinois and he remains in constant contact with the Illini coaching staff.
"I'm still with them," Miller said. "I talk to the coaches almost every day. I'm still cool with them."
Miller does not plan to make a final decision until he has taken his official visits.
