Miles is one of Arizonas best

In Arizona there doesn't seem to be a shortage of talent, especially in the class of 2009. One name that doesn't get talked about enough, though, is Peoria, Ariz., running back Jamal Miles.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder recently impressed at the NIKE Combine, and schools are definitely interested in him.

"I have good vision and speed," Miles, who is 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, said. "Once I hit the hole, nobody can catch me. I like to hit it up inside, read the blocks and then if the outside is open take it out there. I'm more of an elusive speed back, but if I have to run it up the middle, I can."
As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,122 yards and 16 scores. Then in 2007, he rushed for 39 touchdowns, 1,600 yards and threw one touchdown pass on a halfback pass.
"It was a pretty good year," he said. "We also went to the state semifinals. My goal for next year is to get to the championship game and win it."
He's also a winner on the recruiting front.
Miles said both Arizona and Arizona State have extended him early scholarship offers.
"I always liked Arizona State, because it was an in-state school, but USC was my favorite school growing up," Miles said. "I just like the players they used to have back in the day. I also like how they win a lot of games. But I'm open to pretty much anybody at this point."
Miles said he gets letters from most Pac 10 teams, along with others like Tennessee. He said both in-state schools are definitely under consideration.
"I haven't been to ASU yet," he said. "I went to UofA, and they said they'd use me as a running back slash receiver. I liked what I saw there. I'm going to get up to ASU to see what they have to offer, too. I'm going to wait things out for a while before I decide."
