Milan comfortable at ISU

Chicago (Ill.) Al Raby three-star defensive tackle Jamal Milan made his first official visit this past weekend to Iowa State, and got more than he bargained for.
"It surpassed my expectations for sure," Milan said.

Asked about the feeling he got when on campus, Milan had several adjectives to describe his experience.
"Friendly, loving, appreciated… even more, but mainly I felt really comfortable and also loved the vibe there," Milan said.
Several Iowa State coaches and players contributed to making Milan's stay in Ames a memorable one.
"(The) DT coach, Coach (Paul) Rhoads, Coach Lou (Ayeni) mainly, with the help of (linebackers) Willie Harvey and Justin Madison," Milan said.
Milan holds scholarship offers from schools across the country. He nearly ended his recruitment while on his official visit this past weekend, however.
"I really wanted to commit right then and there but I know I have to take other visits first," Milan said.
More visits are expected before Milan makes his college commitment. He is planning to make an official visit to North Carolina this weekend. Schools like Maryland and Syracuse are pushing hard while Illinois and Indiana have also been mentioned as high interests by Milan in the past.
The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Milan is ranked as the No. 32 defensive tackle in the 2015 class and the No. 10 player in the state of Illinois.
