Mike OK to let recruiting play out

Tucson, Ariz., Sabino High School offensive lineman Andrew Mike is still feeling this whole thing out.
The 6-foot-7, 260-pound prospect in the class of 2014 probably doesn't do much soft stepping, but he's made an exception in the case of his recruitment.

When it comes to that, he's as careful and non-committal as they come. Mostly because he doesn't have any idea what's around the next corner.
"There's no favorite," Mike said on Wednesday. "I'm just really trying to keep it open. I don't even know what attracts me the most yet. I just want to see what that is first."
Mike currently holds four scholarship offers. They come from Arizona, Arizona State, BYU and California.
Don't expect him to name an early favorite, though. He knows better than that. He's intentionally slow playing the process and waiting for other schools to get involved.
He plans to attend games at Arizona, Cal and Stanford this season, and is in the process of finalizing the dates for those visits.
"I'm going to go to Cal when they play UCLA," he said. "I'm not really sure about Stanford yet."
Of course, Mike lives just a few miles away from the Arizona campus, so setting up a date to take in a game at Arizona Stadium won't be much of a hassle. Keeping up with his increasing recruiting buzz, on the other hand, might turn into one soon enough.
Then, that won't a bad problem to have.
"I think Utah might be close to offering me," said Mike, who also may be on the verge of a Stanford offer. "I visited Utah when I was up visiting BYU (last month). I went to see their facilities. I think they're pretty close with an offer."
Mike is also receiving early interest from Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Oklahoma among others.
He has concluded his camp circuit and visit list for the summer and will now turn his attention to the upcoming high school season, which is likely to bring another spike in interest from college coaches.
