Midwest QB looking at solid offers

For the past couple of weeks, Meyerstown (Pa.) Elco quarterback Zack Kulp has been busy reading defensive schemes and offer letters from Colorado, Temple and Hofstra.
The 6-foot-0, 182 pound run and gunner has also fielded calls from Rutgers, Missouri and Arizona State.

"Rutgers is new to my list. I'm definitely going there to see them play, so obviously I'm interested," he said.
Kulp had a busy summer that included stops at Purdue's elite quarterback camp as well as the Missouri, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina camps.
"I liked Missouri the best. They treated me well and I have a good relationship with [recruiting coordinator] Dave Steckel," Kulp said. "[Steckel] said they are very interested in me, but they are only taking one quarterback and they're not in a rush."
In addition to Rutgers, he will visit Hofstra this fall, but he is not ready to commit until he has a better picture of his options. Of his current offers, Kulp had positive things to say about Temple's coaching staff and the Colorado program.
"Colorado is a great program, but it's too far away for me to make a decision without visiting," Kulp said. "I'll want to get to know the recruiting coordinator and quarterbacks coach because they are the people I'll rely on most if I got homesick."
So far this season, defensive coordinators have tried everything in the book to rattle Kulp. But he has responded with all the right decisions, and he has posted some gaudy numbers. (37 for 63, 450 passing yards and nine touchdown passes).
"On every down the defenses are trying to confuse me," he said. "Sometimes they'll drop seven men into coverage, sometimes they blitz from the corner. I have to figure it out at the line of scrimmage, so I can audible into a running play or know who my 'hot' receiver is."
