Middleton still waiting for his first offer

Winston-Salem (N.C.) Parkland cornerback Douglas Middleton has been busy this month with camps. The 6-foot-0, 180-pounder went to four colleges, but has yet to pull down his first scholarship.
"I just came from NC State's camp on Saturday," he said. "I did really well there. The recruiting coordinator wanted to get a look at me, but I came when he wasn't there. I did really well according to the defensive back coach. He told me the only reason they didn't offer was because the coordinator wasn't there. He plans to bring the recruiting coordinator to my first game so he can see me in person."

Where else has Middleton been?
"Marshall hasn't offered yet either," he said. "They want to wait until my first game. South Carolina wants to see my first two games, while Duke and North Carolina said they are already filled.
"East Carolina said they are supposed to be offering me sometime soon. They just want to look at my highlight tape. They told me they thought I only played in two games last year, otherwise it would have been a no brainer."
A couple new schools are starting to move in for the talented prospect including Northern Illinois and Wisconsin.
Does Middleton like anybody?
"I really like NC State," he said. "They have a really nice school and are really interested in me. I think they are the closest ones to offering besides East Carolina."
Middleton claims no other visits are on tap at this time.
The cornerback claims an impressive 3.47 GPA.
