The Early Signing Period is quickly approaching and teams are battling it out for top prospects. Here is a closer look at the top two-team recruiting battles in the Mid-Atlantic.

Darnell Wright: Alabama vs. Tennessee

Almost from day one, it has been the Volunteers and Crimson Tide facing off for Wright, the top-ranked offensive lineman in the Rivals100. Tennessee had the edge early then it swung toward Alabama and then back again. Now, everything is a bit up in the air. Wright has visited both schools multiple times, has strong relationships at each school, and isn't expected to make any big moves until later in this recruiting cycle.

Quavaris Crouch: Clemson vs. Michigan

Crouch's recruiting has gone through many stages. Florida State just got him on campus for an official visit. He has been to Tennessee and South Carolina many times but it is boiling down to the Tigers and Wolverines. Crouch's most recent visit to Clemson was for the N.C. State game and, after seeing their game at Florida State as well, he has seen everything the Tigers can do on the field. He's going to get a closer look at Michigan for the Penn State game this weekend during his official visit and the Wolverines need to impress him if they hope to lure Crouch away from Clemson.

Khafre Brown: North Carolina vs. Tennessee

The Tar Heels and Volunteers aren't the only schools involved with Brown, but they are the two most likely landing stops. Michigan and Georgia are set to host Brown for official visits on Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, and he already took his official visits to Tennessee and North Carolina. The Tar Heels have a very strong relationship with Brown and his brother is a wide receiver on the team right now, but Tennessee is hoping Brown wants to be his own man. The Volunteers are in good position, but there is still a long way to go before Brown signs in February.

D'Von Ellies: Penn State vs. Ohio State

Ellies seems as if he will end up at one of these two Big Ten programs but Florida is also in the mix. He will be back in State College for his official visit when Wisconsin plays Penn State and is going to the Ohio State game against Michigan at the end of November. Florida, West Virginia, and Rutgers remain in the mix but this recruitment is going to come down to the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes. Having visited Penn State so many times and considering Penn State's biggest need right now is defensive tackle, it's hard to see Ellies ending up anywhere else.

Marlin Devonshire: West Virginia vs. Pittsburgh

This race has played out many times before for a star player from Aliquippa, Pa. Devonshire has favored the Mountaineers for some time and has been close to pulling the trigger, but has held off. He was supposed to visit West Virginia for the Baylor game earlier this year but chose to go to Virginia Tech instead. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has been climbing back into the race after a series of positive visits spanning back into the offseason.
