Mickens lands major Big 12 offer

Jaydon Mickens played well in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl last week and now the Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey four-star athlete has picked up an impressive Big 12 offer.
Oklahoma State is the newest offer for Mickens and the 5-foot-8, 170-pound prospect said he's planning to take an official visit to Stillwater this weekend.

The offer from the Cowboys came as a complete surprise to Mickens, who's rated as the No. 13 athlete and No. 187 in the 2012 class by Rivals.com. He's No. 26 in the California state rankings.
"That came out of nowhere," Mickens said of the Oklahoma State offer.
"They were telling me I go great with their offense because I can play a lot of positions, I can do a lot of things, and I can contribute in the return game so I'll be going on a visit this weekend."
Mickens said he's definitely interested in Oklahoma State but Washington and Oregon are still considered his two favorites.
After this weekend's trip to Oklahoma State, Mickens is going to visit Oregon on Jan. 20 and then take his time considering all his options before making his decision on National Signing Day.
"It will be time to make my decision then," Mickens said. "I'll have a whole week to prepare and talk to my family and then I'll reach my decision. I'm going to do it on signing day I'll be picking the hat.
"Washington and Oregon is the top still. Oklahoma State is now in the mix."
In his senior season, Mickens finished with 378 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns along with 558 receiving yards and seven scores. Los Angeles Dorsey finished 11-2.
