Michigan TE taking his time

Holland (Mich.) Holland Christian three-star tight end Josh Rooks has enjoyed the recruiting process a tremendous a lot, but he also hasn't let it get to his head.
The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder has offers from Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue, Stanford, Central Michigan and Northern Illinois.

"I'm trying not to get all caught up in it and stuff like that," Rooks, the No. 17 player in Michigan, said. "I've gone to quite a few camps. I've gone to some 7-on-7 with my team. I went to Purdue and Notre Dame. I also went to some one day camps at Iowa, Michigan State and Michigan.
"I did go down for an unofficial visit with my parents to check out Purdue and Northwestern. I plan on going to Northwestern this next week, too, to kind of meet with some of the players. Purdue has also talked to me about taking an official visit in the fall."
At this point, Rooks said the Big 10 schools Purdue, Northwestern and Michigan State have been recruiting him the hardest. So it's no surprise it's those teams that lead for him at this point. He did mention he'd like to get an offer from Michigan, too.
"I like them (Michigan and Michigan State) a lot," he said. "But I grew up liking Michigan more, but it's kind of hard to say that after I got an offer from Michigan State.
"At first I was thinking by the end of the summer I'm going to make a decision. Then Iowa told me they wanted to see a couple of my senior tapes, so if I want to look into Iowa more seriously, I'll probably wait a little bit longer."
So why are teams targeting Rooks so heavily?
"I think it's just kind of the overall package," he said. "A lot of people tell me I'm just a big athlete. I can go out and play tight end or you can bulk me up and put me as offensive line later in the future. I think that flexibility is why a lot of colleges like me."
