Michigan State lands four-star LB

Michigan State has had great success recruiting Cincinnati high school power Moeller High in recent years. Their most recent signing was wide receiver Monty Madaris in the 2012 class, and on Monday the Spartans added four-star linebacker Shane Jones to their 2013 class.
"I'm committed to play at Michigan State," Jones told Rivals.com Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Jones made his most recent visit to East Lansing late last week to take in one of the Spartan's spring practices, and that trip appears to have been one of the final pieces to Jones' commitment. It was obvious even before, however, that Jones felt a strong connection at Michigan State.
"I really did enjoy it," Jones said after his first visit to the school back in February. "I think the biggest thing for me was the chance to talk with the players."
Some of those players have a similar background to Jones. Starting defensive end Marcus Rush is a Moeller grad, and recently departed linebacker Greg Jones (no relation) also came from Moeller High. Now, the Spartans will add Madaris and Jones to that growing Moller-Michigan State pipeline.
Jones chose Michigan State over offers from more than 20 schools, including Arizona, Boston College, Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pitt and Texas A&M.
Jones is commitment No. 6 for Michigan State in the 2013 class. He is rated four stars and ranked as the No. 14 inside linebacker in the country.
