Michigan offers 2017 QB Coan

Four-star sophomore Jack Coan is quickly becoming one of the most sought after quarterbacks in the 2017 class. The Sayville, N.Y. star recently added offers from Michigan and Maryland.
"I know Michigan is a historical program," said the 6-foot-3, 186-pound Coan. "It's coach Harbaugh's first year there and I know they have great academics at Michigan. I've it's a nice campus and a great program. I know they haven't been doing as well the past couple of years as they had been. I know Michigan has had a lot good quarterbacks. The name that jumps out to me is Tom Brady.

"I know about coach Harbaugh but I haven't met all the coaches yet," he said. "I talked to coach Fisch a little bit the other day. I know he worked for the University of Miami for a little while and I think he worked for the Jaguars also.
"I don't know a lot of Maryland's football program," Coan said. "I know more about their lacrosse program because I visited for their lacrosse team. I'm still learning about their football team."
Coan is also a very accomplished lacrosse player.
"I don't think I'll be playing both in college," he said. "I had committed to Notre Dame for lacrosse."
On Thursday Coan announced he will be focusing on playing college football and is no longer committed to play lacrosse at Notre Dame. Coan, however, is interested in possibly playing football for the Fighting Irish.
"I have not talked to the football coaches yet," said Coan. "I would definitely be interested in Notre Dame for football. I jus thought it was a really beautiful campus. I thought the students were really nice. I thought it was a good atmosphere there and I liked it."
Virginia and Rutgers will watch Coan throw next week and offers could be forthcoming.
