Michigan offers 2016 four-star LB

Darrian Franklin recently landed a major offer from the Big 10 and more could be on the way.
The four-star linebacker in the 2016 class from Downey, Calif., was offered by Michigan last week and he said there is serious interest in the Wolverines.

Franklin, rated as the ninth-best outside linebacker in the junior class by Rivals.com, has family in the Detroit area and he's already visited campus. Assistant coach Dan Ferrigno is recruiting him.
"They had come up earlier last year in the spring and they talked to me and they wanted me to come up to visit," Franklin said.
"I had never gotten up there with my dad because some things came up. We never got up there (for another visit) so (Ferrigno) finally came out here on Friday, talked to me and saw my size and offered me a scholarship.
"It's a really big offer. I really liked it when I went up there so I liked the stadium and the facilities so it's a big offer. I saw all the history and tradition and it's a really nice school."
There are certainly some questions about the Michigan coaching staff's future in Ann Arbor so Franklin said he's happy he has plenty of time to see how that plays out. He's keeping a close eye on things because the four-star is genuinely interested in the program.
"I'm just going to sit back, see what happens and then make my decision," Franklin said.
So far, the four-star linebacker has been offered by Michigan, Arizona State, Cal, Miami, UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington. Plenty of others are showing interest.
"Notre Dame likes me a lot," Franklin said. "They said they're going to offer me after the football season. I've also been hearing from LSU, Auburn and Mississippi State."
