Michigan makes push for Burnett

Deontay Burnett has been committed to Washington State since July but Michigan reached out in the last week or so and the new coaching staff in Ann Arbor wants him to visit this weekend.
The Gardena (Calif.) Serra three-star receiver said he's considering a trip but as of this past weekend Burnett has not finalized anything. Still, he's looking at the Wolverines especially now that they've reached out so much.

"They said that they're highly interested in me and they want to get me out there," Burnett said. "They watched my film and they said I'm a rare receiver so they want to get me out there.
"I'll consider it. I'll think about it. I'm not sure (about an offer). They want to get me out there first of all."
It could be tough to pull Burnett away from Washington State especially since he likes the pass-happy offense so much and that he's been committed for months. The three-star sees a lot of opportunities in Pullman so a late push even by Michigan might not be enough.
"I love the offense there," Burnett said. "As a receiver it's pretty attractive that their offense throws the ball a lot."
The Serra standout also had an in-home visit with the Washington State staff last week and it went really well.
"I just had an in-home visit (on Wednesday)," Burnett said. "The in-home went very well. I had a chance to bond with coach (Mike) Leach, coach (David) Yost and coach (Dennis) Simmons. They were talking about great stuff I could do in the program."
In his senior season, Burnett finished with 27 receptions for 545 yards and five touchdowns.
