Michigan LB get first offer

Birmingham (Mich.) Brother Rice outside linebacker Paul Gyarmati, who is 6-foot-0 and 225 pounds, has picked up his first scholarship offer. However, the all-area linebacker would like to add even more to his resume before he makes up his mind.
"I'm hearing from Northwestern, UCLA, Duke, Michigan State, Central Michigan and Boston College, and I picked up an offer from Air Force," Gyarmati said. “They offered three or four weeks ago. One of their coaches called me, and then he texted it to me."

The offer was welcome, but was also surprising.
"I was actually not really talking to Air Force, and then I got the call out of the blue," he said. "They said they wanted to offer me. A guy at my school (Jim Plaskey) got offered, so they were recruiting him and then they saw my film and decided to offer me."
Gyarmati has taken visits to a few schools and liked what he saw.
"I've been to Duke and I've been to Boston College," he said. "I liked everything about Duke. I liked their campus and I spent a lot of time with the team. Boston College, I just went up for a game when they played Maryland so it was a while back. I just went to Duke a few weeks ago."
Last season he registered 80 tackles, three sacks and one interception on his way to all-league and honorable mention all-area. He hopes to help his team win more games and do better personally as a senior.
"I want to win state, but individually I want to break 100 tackles," he said. "My biggest strength is my ability to take on blocks."
