Michigan lands one of NCs best

The Michigan Wolverines have one player on their roster from the state of North Carolina, but he's a good one -- Heisman candidate Chris Perry. Now the Wolverines have added another.
"Jamar committed to Michigan," said Ms. Hopkins, an assistant princial at Charlotte (N.C.) Butler of star safety Jamar Adams. "We're all very excited about it here."

Adams, a 6-foot-2, 198-pounder, made a name for himself with two interceptions last year against Florida freshman star Chris Leak. He had five interceptions in all from his safety position. However, Michigan knew about Adams for a long time.
"He's pretty much camped up there every summer and loved it," said Ms. Hopkins. "He felt really comfortable there."
Adams chose Michigan over offers from North Carolina and Virginia and interest from Florida State and Miami.
