Michigan is WRs dream school

Clifton (Va.) Centreville wide receiver Steve Tate is interested in many schools, but Michigan is where his heart is.
"I was born in Michigan and lived there until I was around seven or eight," said the 6-foot-0, 175-pound wideout. "I've always been a Michigan fan and that's the only camp I went to this summer."

While Tate didn't get an offer out of camp, he made quite an impression.
"I was named the best wideout there and got an award and I was the third fastest wide receiver at the camp," he said. "I'm hoping that will bring an offer, but so far it hasn't"
In addition to the Wolverines, Tate lists Virginia, Clemson, Maryland and Tennessee as his favorites.
"UVA and Clemson want me as both a wideout and defensive back while Maryland and Tennessee want me as a d-back," he said. "Michigan is the only one recruiting me just as a wideout."
As a junior, Tate caught 21 passes for 405 yards and four scores on offense and made 30 tackles, picked off two passes and broke up nine passes on defense. He went head-to-head at Michigan camp with the nation's top defensive back.
"I was matched up with Teddy Ginn and he's really good, but I held my own," he said. "I think I can raise my level to the level of the competition."
Tate said that Clemson and UVA are recruiting him the hardest at this point, but more schools would be offering (he has no offers) if his grades were better.
"I'm working on it," he said. "I'm taking two summer course now and I will get an A in each of them. I'm hoping to qualify in September or October and I was told I'd already have offers from UVA and Tennessee if I had qualified."
Tate will take his time with his decision.
"I'll wait until after the season most likely," he said. "Of course, a lot depends on who offers and when."
