Michigan impresses

Deerfield (Ill.) junior quarterback prospect Alex Loukas (6-foot-4, 200 pounds) is a big and talented signal caller from the Illinois recruiting class of 2006, and Loukas fills us in on his latest recruiting news as well as his college junior day visits.
"I've already been to junior day events at both Northwestern and Michigan," Loukas said. "I'm also attending junior days this weekend at Purdue on Saturday and Notre Dame on Sunday."
Loukas, who in 2004 passed for 1,518 yards and 16 touchdowns in just 9 games, talked about his experiences at both Northwestern and Michigan.
"I really enjoyed both junior days. I was at Northwestern last Saturday, and I just liked getting a chance to talk with the coaches and getting a chance to check out the campus and the facilities at Northwestern. I really enjoyed talking with head coach Randy Walker. He's a great motivator and a very down to earth guy. I also like the campus quite a bit at Northwestern."
"Michigan was also very impressive. I was able to talk with Coach (Andy) Moeller and I also was able to meet Lloyd Carr. I really got along very well with the coaches at Michigan and the junior day was just a really good experience. Michigan has just great tradition, and the facilities at Michigan are also top notch."
Loukas has continued to draw plenty of mail and interest this winter from several schools.
"I've been getting some hand-written mail recently. Nebraska, Purdue, Wisconsin and Texas Tech have sent a few hand-written letters and post cards, plus I'm getting steady mail from Northwestern, Iowa, Iowa State, Notre Dame and Tennessee."
