Michigan back in on Jersey LB

Bayonne, N.J. athlete Jerome Hayes has no clear favorite, but Michigan has jumped into the race.
“Michigan has started calling,” Hayes said. “They’ve always been around, but not calling like they have lately. I have been interested and I’m looking forward to finding out more about them.”

The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder took an official visit to Florida in October and plans to visit Michigan State (Dec. 10) and Miami-Fla. (Dec. 17). He list Rutgers, Tennessee and Virginia Tech among the schools he is looking at.
Hayes said he will have to see what happens to the assistant coaches at Florida after the firing of head coach Ron Zook before making a decision about the Gators.
“I’m still looking at schools and I’m open,” Hayes said. “There is no leader. I’m going to take my time and take all the visits before I make a decision.”
Hayes has been a leader for his Bayonne high school team. He has over 1,100 yards rushing at running back and 92 tackles at linebacker. The team is 5-3 so far this season.
“It has been a good year,” Hayes said.
Hayes is ranked the 12th best outside linebacker in the country and the sixth best player in New Jersey by Rivals.com.
