Michel suffers major setback

Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage running back Sony Michel is just a sophomore, but has already made a name for himself due to regularly providing incredible highlights on Friday nights in the Sunshine State. Disappointingly, he won't be doing that in 2011.
"I did tear my ACL," Michel said. "I am going to miss the season."

Michel suffered the injury this past Friday when American Heritage squared off against Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Charter in a kickoff classic. Michel suffered the injury during the first half.
"I tore my ACL actually cutting, making a cut on the field," Michel said. "I didn't think it was that bad at first."
While he won't be toting the rock on the field, Michel said he intends to devote himself to making his team better from the sidelines. He will also be cheering on fellow sophomore Henry Bussy, who is likely to see an increased role with Michel's absence.
"I am going to just be there to motivate my teammates," Michel said. "I just plan to try to keep them up from the sidelines. They are kind of down right now, we have some emptiness on the team, but I plan to be there just to keep them up."
At this time, Michel said he has made no plans to take any visits to college campuses during the season. He currently holds offers from Florida State, Miami, and Notre Dame.
