Micenheimer hoping for more offers

Malique Micenheimer has one offer and is hoping for more after sending out a highlight tape to many schools but the Stockton (Calif.) Ronald E. McNair linebacker is just taking his time as his senior year approaches.
Micenheimer, a 6-foot, 220-pound inside linebacker, was one of the best prospects at the Palo Alto NIKE Camp this spring and San Jose State has offered but he's looking for more options.

That's why he recently sent out another highlight tape because he wasn't thrilled with his junior film for numerous reasons.
"I'm really sending that out a lot basically trying to pitch myself a lot because both (my coach) and I feel like I can play at that level," Micenheimer. "What really hurt me last year was my junior tape, it wasn't so great. We had a lot of team injuries that hurt us.
"My goals right now aren't really offers. I have an offer from San Jose State and that's fine but it's just about getting better and bigger and stronger and faster and helping my team out now. I know everything will work out in the end."
Nevada has been showing more interest in Micenheimer, who finished with 94 tackles and two fumble recoveries last season. He's hoping to check in with UCLA, Stanford, Oregon State and Washington soon to see what those coaching staffs thought about his tape.
Rivals.com rates Micenheimer, who's planning to take an unofficial visit soon to Nevada, as the No. 27 inside linebacker nationally and the No. 80 prospect in the California state rankings.
San Jose State is still very much an option. Micenheimer visited the school this summer, enjoyed the camp and coaching staff and said San Jose State will be under strong consideration this fall.
"I really enjoyed it down there," he said. "We spent three days at the camp and the coaching staff was really great. Coach (Mike MacIntyre) was very involved in the camp which is kind of different for a head coach.
"It was pretty good. I enjoyed the staff. I liked the campus. My parents want to see the campus. I'm not sure if that's where I'll end up yet but they're still on my list because I have an offer."
