Micah Carter staying with Marshall

Beckley (W.V.) Woodrow Wilson offensive guard Micah Carter took an official visit last weekend to Kentucky. The soft Marshall commitment didn't hold an offer from the Wildcats, but headed over to Lexington to see what they are all about. Is the 6-foot-2, 302-pounder still looking around?
"I just got back from Kentucky and I went up there to visit since they had been sending me a lot of letters," he said. "They were looking to sign me and were interested, but I think I'm happy where I'm going."

This week, Carter will take an official back to Marshall. Is he all firmed up with the Thundering Herd?
"It's coming down to Signing Day and personally I'm ready to stick with Marshall," he stated. "Marshall is where I'm going to be and I just want to chill out with the team and staff this weekend.
"I like the history there. I know they are on some bad times right now, but I want to help them get back to the dominance they had in the 90's. I want to help them win championships and I feel like if I go there I can help out."
The coaching staff was a big factor in the two-star lineman's decision to stay in Huntington.
"I really like coach Morrison and Cummings," he said. "They are great coaches. I especially got real close and personal with coach Cummings. He asked me if I want to go pro and I told him that's what I'm all about, and then he told me he'll do everything in his power to get me there as long as I give 100%."
The No. 4 prospect in West Virginia plans to make an impact next season for the Herd.
"They like my size, stature, quick feet and the fact I have the strength to play any position along the line," he said. "As long as I learn the plays I should be able to start as a freshman and I'm looking to come in and help."
