LOS ANGELES - The quarterback position at Las Vegas Bishop Gorman is a coveted one with Tate Martell and Dorian Thompson-Robinson being the last two superstars.

Now off to Ohio State and UCLA, respectively, 2020 standout Micah Bowens could be next and he’s excited for the future.

A tremendous athlete as well, Arizona was the first school to offer Bowens as a defensive back. He’s talked to the new staff and is excited to see where things go.

“I’ve talked to them a little bit,” Bowens said at the recent Premium Showcase. “They were up at the school a few weeks ago and I got to chop it up a little bit with them.

“I have to keep working. That offer came at DB and I definitely want to get re-offered at quarterback because that’s my main focus right now. (Coach Kevin Sumlin’s) a great coach and he’s a smart dude.”

Plenty of interest is coming in from Arizona State, Utah, Washington and Miami. The Hurricanes could be especially interesting since former Gorman tight end Brevin Jordan signed with them this past recruiting cycle.

Following in Martell’s and Thompson-Robinson’s footsteps is important but Bowens wants to make a name for himself as well - and hopefully start landing more offers soon.

“I really want to set my own path,” Bowens said. “Tate and Dorian did great stuff but I want to do my own thing. That’s my focus.

“The idea for me is this spring (for more offers). I want to get those offers up and show what I can do.”
