Miami, South Carolina in play for Bandy

Trajan Bandy

DAVIE, Fla. -- Trajan Bandy knows everyone expects him to stay home. The predictions of others are not lost on him. Since the day he broke his commitment to Oklahoma, coaches, reporters and fans have been waiting for the other shoe – in this case, a commitment to Miami – to drop.

The four-star defensive back only slightly protests the popular talking point

“I know what everyone thinks, but it’s a process that I want to take my time with,” Bandy said. “I don’t know, but Miami is definitely one of the teams I really want to choose from and I really like Coach [Mark] Richt and those guys.”

Bandy says he’ll l also consider South Carolina and TCU in addition to Miami. He has set no timetable for a decision nor has he set official visit destinations.

A four-star cornerback, Bandy is ranked as the No. 12 defensive back and the No. 118 overall prospect in the class of 2017.

IN HIS WORDS: “I haven’t decided on visits yet,” Bandy said, but I recently visited South Carolina for the barbecue. That was really, really nice. It was fun. It was exactly hat I expected to see. I can be myself around those coaches.”

RIVALS REACTION: It seems as though Bandy is going to commit to Miami. Then, stranger things have happened in recruiting. South Carolina remains involved in his recruitment, but the in-state Hurricanes are the overwhelming favorites here.
