Miami (Fla.) Southwest offensive guard Chris DeArmas has been a virtual unknown to this point in the recruiting world, but that is quickly changing as he is beginning to pick up momentum.
“Right now I have offers from South Florida and Florida International,” DeArmas said. “I’m also getting interest from Florida, Miami and Ole Miss. I think right now I’m a sleeper and not a lot of schools know about me, but I hope that I can change that this season.”
DeArmas is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound pulling guard with solid speed. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds.
“I grew up a pretty big Miami fan as a kid,” DeArmas said. “Living down here close to the campus it is just what I have grown up around. I like them and I am also looking at Florida and South Florida. Miami and Florida both have called and showed a lot of interest , but the obviously have not offered me yet. I would say that South Florida is recruiting me the hardest right now.”
He has a 315-pound bench press and 425-pound squat. DeArmas claims that he has never allowed a sack in his high school career.
“I really want to stay close to home,” DeArmas said. “I’m looking at academics and what kind of players are on the team and how they treat each other. I want to surround myself with the right kind of teammates and people.”
He has already camped at Miami this summer and has plans to camp at South Florida and Florida as well.
