Miami S to stay in state

Miami (Fla.) Monsignor Pace safety/wide receiver Quinton Andrews has already picked up some impressive offers this recruiting season and will have the opportunity to pick up even more once the season kicks off in a little over a month.
“I have offers from Boston College, Iowa, Florida, Rutgers, Tulane and West Virginia,” Andrews said. “Recently I picked up offers from South Florida and Northern Illinois. There are some other schools like Florida State, Ohio State, Miami and NC State that told me they want to see how I do as a senior before they offer.’

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Andrews runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, has a 265-pound bench press, does 14 reps on the bench press and has a 30-inch vertical jump.
“I would say that my top schools right now are Miami, Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, Iowa and NC State,” Andrews said. “Right now I think they are kind of even. Me and my teammate Conredge Collins have talked a lot about Miami in the past. Lately though, he has been asking me how I feel about Florida State. We would like to go somewhere together if we could.”
As a junior he collected nearly 130 tackles, 12 sacks, four interceptions and 13 pass-breakups while guiding the 3-A Spartans to a 12-3 record.
“Wherever I go, I want to get on the field as quickly as I possibly can,” Andrews said. “I also want to get a good education because that will be there when football is not. I really want to win so I want to go to a school that is good and wins a lot of games every year.”
Andrews attended the NIKE camp in Miami and has not been to another since. He will, however, participate in a team passing camp at Florida International this weekend.
