Miami picks up big time athlete

Miami just picked up a big verbal commitments from one of the top skilled prospects from the state of Florida as Jamal Reid have his pledge to the 'Canes.
"I committed about 10 minutes ago," Reid said. "Miami has a great program and they are on their way back up. I have lots of love for that coaching staff. They are loyal, they were the first to offer me and it was time to make the decision. I love the chemistry at Miami, they have a lot of great, young players and it was time to become a member of the Hurricane family."

Reid, 6-1 and 175 pounds, is a two-way standout on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and defensive back. Some teams like him on offense and others liked him on defense. Reid will play in the secondary down in Coral Gables.
"They say I can play either safety or cornerback. To me it doesn't matter. I just want to work hard and help out the team.
"This is exciting because Miami has always been in my heart and in my mind."
Reid, from Mayo (Fla.) Lafayette High School, committed to Miami over Clemson and South Florida. So far in three games this season Reid has scored seven touchdowns.
