Miami, Ohio State, others stand out to Thompson as he preps for visits

Casey Thompson ()

Casey Thompson's offer list features its share of heavy recruiting hitters. Traditional powers Ohio State and Oklahoma have already made things official with the class-of-2018 quarterback. Penn State has offered as well. Thompson holds 12 offers in total and that number will almost certainly rise in the near future.

Favorites? Thompson never uses the word. He does, however, list the schools in which he is “most interested.”

“I like Ohio State a lot,” Thompson said. “I like Arizona State. Miami offered, and I really like them. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are in consideration and then Houston. I don’t have an order or anything. Those are just the schools I like.”

That list is, of course, is subject to change as the Oklahoma-based prospect travels. The visits he has on tap could make a splash and do so quickly.

“I’m going to visit Clemson next week,” Thompson said. “Straight from there, I’m going to Miami. The week after that, I might go to Florida and Florida State.”

While he has set no hard timetable for a commitment, Thompson intends to make a decision sometime before his senior season at Oklahoma’s Southmoore High School.

IN HIS WORDS: “I want offers from Clemson, Florida State and Florida. Florida State and Florida are having camps on the same week, though. I want to go to both, but I think I’ll still be able to throw on campus when I get there. Those visits are possible, but I know for sure I’m going to Clemson and Miami next week.”

RIVALS REACTION: There’s no telling where Thompson may land at such an early juncture. Ohio State and the in-state schools seem most involved, but projecting the recruitment of a prospect that has barely started to take visits it incredibly difficult.
