Miami offers ODonnell

Defensive end Jake O'Donnell of Doylestown (Pa.) Central Bucks East was holding steady with one offer as the spring evaluation period began. Now, with eight offers, including one from Miami after his camp experience there this weekend, O'Donnell is a name that is gaining steam.
"Recruiting has been great," said O'Donnell, who is 6-foot-6 and 235-pounds. "In the past month I've received five more offers."

O'Donnell had his original offer from Temple, and then added Stony Brook and VMI soon after. However, in the last month everything really hit another level with new offers from Miami, North Carolina, Syracuse, West Virginia and Old Dominion.
"It feels awesome," said O'Donnell. "Everything that has been going on just makes me want more and to work even harder."
O'Donnell's latest offer came from Miami after he attended the weekend summer camp.
"That went very well," said O'Donnell. "The school is beautiful and I love the coaching staff. Getting the offer felt awesome. I went into camp knowing that I was going to work my butt off and it ended up paying off."
Even with the influx of offers, O'Donnell has no plans to rest.
"I'll be at BC next week and I'm trying to get down to Maryland and UNC as well," said O'Donnell, who is being recruited as both a defensive end and tight end by schools, but prefers the defensive side of the ball.
O'Donnell has started to formulate a timetable for a final decision.
"I want to get it out of the way before my senior year, so I can focus on playing for East," said O'Donnell. "I'm hoping to have a decision before the end of the month."
Finally, O'Donnell listed a number of things he will be looking for in a program as his decision nears.
"Obviously a winning and supported football program," he said. "I want them to have a great business school, because that's what I'm probably going to major in. And I have to know I'm going to like where I'm going to live so I need to fit into the campus."
