Miami making a push for Toal

Wyckoff (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep linebacker Brian Toal is ready for his last official visit and for his announcement next Wednesday. The Miami Hurricanes are making one last push.
"Miami coach Vernon Hargreaves came up to see me earlier this week and kind of challenged me a bit," said the 6-foot-2, 228-pounder. "He told me that it would take some guts for me to pick Miami and that I could either be a Hurricane and win for four years or play someplace else and be beaten for four years. It made a lot of sense."

Toal, who is visiting Rutgers this weekend, lists his choices in the following order.
"Boston College and Miami are on top, Penn State and Tennessee with Rutgers after them," he said. "It changes a bit here and there, but there's less than a week left so it's crunch time."
Toal had his last in-home visit this week with BC head coach Tom O'Brien.
"It went well," he said. "It was around three hours or so and felt comfortable. Rob Tardio (former BC tight end) was there and so was my brother, so it was fun."
Toal, the No. 3 inside linebacker in the country, has a tough decision ahead of him.
"It's the comfort and ability to play right away of BC against the lure of Miami and playing in those big games," he said. "Tennessee and Penn State are also very much in there because the Vols play in the SEC and PSU is as close as BC is. It won't be easy."
