Miami Leads For Florida DE

One of the top defensive ends in the country is Sarasota (Fla.) Booker standout Baraka Atkins. He has the offers to prove it as well.
“I have a bunch of offers, but I can’t remember all of them,” said the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder with 4.7-second speed in the 40-yard dash. “I plan on taking all of my official visits to decide on which school is best for me.”

So who makes the list for a possible visit?
“Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Ohio State and Virginia Tech are teams I’m interested in,” he said. “Miami is and always has been my leader, but I have to see other schools. I’ve been to Miami and now it’s time to see other places.”
Atkins, who had eight sacks last season and made 79 tackles overall, will begin setting up his visits soon enough. However, don’t expect a quick decision.
“I’ll decide in January or February,” he said. “There’s no rush.”
