Miami DE has some big-time offers

Carol City’s Eric Moncur is considered by most experts to be the best pass rusher in South Florida. Miami (Fla.) Central’s Brian Pata might have something to say about that. The 6-foot-4 and 285 pound defensive end put on a show in Thursdays night’s jamboree that made college scouts stand up and take notice. The day after his stellar performance, he got offered over the phone by two big-time programs.
“I had five tackles, two for a loss, and three sacks Thursday night,” Pata said. “The next day Florida and Florida State called me up and offered me. Miami didn’t call but they did send me some mail. They sent me a package about their football camp.”

In addition to Florida and Florida State, Pata has been offered by Clemson, Rutgers, North Carolina, Central Florida, and Georgia.
Even though Pata didn’t get a phone call in May from the hometown Hurricane’s, his heart is very much with them.
“My top five schools are Miami, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina State and Auburn,” Pata said. “Miami is my favorite. I grew up a Miami fan because of their defense. I also like Florida. They have a great defense every year.”
This summer, Pata will attend football camps at Miami, Auburn and North Carolina.
