Miami DB wants K-State offer

Miami (Fla.) Monsignor Pace cornerback Tommy Mama could be a fast rising prospect once the season starts. He had an outstanding performance at the Miami NIKE camp and is getting interest from some major schools.
"I don't have any offers yet, but I do have some schools that are sending me handwritten mail," Mama said. "Kansas State, Miami-Ohio and Louisville are the ones that are sending me the most right now. I get mail from some others, but those are the main ones."

The 5-foot-9, 171-pound Mama attended the Miami NIKE camp where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.44 seconds, the shuttle in 4.25 seconds and posted a 28-inch vertical jump.
"My top schools right now are Kansas State, Louisville, Miami-Ohio and Central Florida," Mama said. "Basically it's the schools that are recruiting me the hardest. Kansas State is my No. 1 school. I really a lot of the defensive backs that have come out of there. The defensive backs coach at my high school played at Kansas State and he is always talking to me about it and it sounds real cool."
Mama went on to say that an offer from the Wildcats would likely lead to his commitment.
"I really just want to get a free college education," Mama said. "Playing time is not something that I am that worried about, most guys don't play as freshman, but it will come in time. I really want to go ahead and commit early, if Kansas State offers, its over."
