Miami corner claims more offers

Miami (Fla.) Pace cornerback Demarcus VanDyke says that he has picked up scholarship offers from one Big Ten and one SEC power this week.
"I've gotten scholarship offers recently from Miami (Fla.), Auburn and Michigan," VanDyke said.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pounder posted a blazing 4.3-second 40-yard dash time at the Miami NIKE Camp on April 9, looked solid in one-on-one drills and has since seen his stock rise.
With the recent attention, VanDyke no longer has any favorites.
"I am wide-open right now," he said.
He did, however, comment on his recent scholarship offers.
"The offer from Michigan was a big surprise," VanDyke said. "I never thought that Michigan came all the way down to Miami to sign players."
Steve Stripling is recruiting VanDyke for the Wolverines.
The offer from Auburn, which has running backs coach Eddie Gran leading the charge, also was intriguing to VanDyke.
"The depth chart isn't that deep at cornerback," he said. "They have a chance for me to come in and compete right away. Plus, they have a good program."
The hometown Hurricanes also are appealing.
"The offer from UM is big," he said. "They put a lot of players in the NFL and that's where I want to go (the NFL)."
Randy Shannon and Tim Walton are the recruiters-of-record for Miami.
Florida International and Florida are the other schools to offer VanDyke. Rutgers, South Florida and Florida State round out his schools of interest.
VanDyke is busy making camp plans for the summer.
"I'm going up to Florida for a Junior Day event on June 3," he said. "I'm going to Miami camp for sure. I want to go to Auburn's camp, but I have practice sessions with my team during the time it's being held."
VanDyke had 32 tackles and three interceptions during the 2005 season.
