Miami commit locking in multiple official visits

ORLANDO, Fla – John Campbell’s commitment to Miami is sound. The four-star offensive lineman doesn’t dispute that in any way. That fact hasn’t stopped him from setting official visits, though. Committed or not, the four-star tackle take five of those.

“I’m doing official visits to UCLA, Georgia, LSU, Miami and then, I think I’m going to do Ohio State,” Campbell said. “I’m going to do all five.”

It seems as though these aren’t just words. Action is being taken and plans are being made. Already, Campbell has two dates locked in on his metaphorical planner. Campbell's visit to Miami is set for Dec. 15 and says his Georgia visit will take place on Dec. 9.

The allure of UGA, he says, is based on relationships.

“I like [offensive lien coach] Coach [Sam] Pittman. At Georgia,” Campbell said. “He’s a good coach and he’s grown some lineman. I just want to get there and check out what the school has.”

Campbell, who committed to Miami in early July, is ranked as the No. 12 offensive tackle and No. 2 129 overall prospect in the 2018 class. He attends Florida’s Dr. Phillips High School.

IN HIS WORDS:

-- “I have a great relationship with Miami. Coach Richt is a great figure for me to progress my work ethic and my level of play. They’ll help me become a great player.”

-- “With UCLA, all Florida boys want to go to UCLA. That’s Cali. People really don’t have a chance to go out there. We just see it on TV. I’ve always wanted to go see UCLA. “

RIVLAS REACTION: There’s no indication that Miami should sweat Campbell’s official visits too much. He seems content and locked in with the program. Then, that’s easy to say before he starts touring the campuses of other schools. A particularly great trip could give the Hurricanes reason to sweat, but there’s no reason to be on red alert just yet.
