Miami CB/WR Names Top Six

Miami (Fla.) Edison cornerback Terrell Walden still has a chip on his shoulder.
“I think I’m still being underrated,” said the 6-foot, 160-pound speedster who runs a 4.33-second 40-yard dash. “I don’t think a lot of people know about me.”

We sure do. Walden is a member of our Southeast 100 and is one of the top shut-down corners in the country. His speed and leaping ability (36-inch vertical) allow him to break on the ball quickly and make plays. It’s the main reason few teams throw at him.
“I had three interceptions last season and three the year before,” he said. “The ball doesn’t come my way on defense.”
Walden also plays wide receiver and says a lot of teams are letting him choose where he wants to play. Right now he has two leaders and a few others of interest.
“I like Miami and Rutgers the best,” he said. “I’ve always liked Miami because I grew up on them and coach (Greg) Schiano is very cool. After those two I like NC State, LSU, Auburn and Michigan State. All of them have offered and only Miami, NC State and Auburn are just recruiting me as a defensive back.”
Walden doesn’t have any visits set up right now, but he’ll take some officials before he decides.
“I need to see some of these places to make the right decision,” he said. “I won’t decide on a school for awhile.”
